In Canada, Dr. Bahr has made a significant impact in establishing the Muslim community in the Tri Cities region of Vancouver lower mainland. In 1995, he rented a place at his own cost and effort to gather the community for Friday and the five daily prayers and to celebrate Islamic events and Eids. He also started a weekend school for Muslim families and children. From 1998 until 2003, Dr. Bahr established one of the biggest Islamic Centers in western Canada and the USA. Without Dr. Bahr’s dedication, the Islamic Cultural Centre and Masjid Alhidayah would not have been established. With Dr. Bahr’s great dedication to fundraising, especially from his network overseas, and his sacrifices with his time and family to follow up with contractors and engineers, Masjid Alhidayah and the Islamic Cultural Centre were completed and officially opened in August 2003.
